Beddington is located in northwest Calgary, Alberta, was annexed in 1975 and established in 1979. There are two shopping centres, both located along Centre Street. Residents have easy access to Nose Hill Park located directly to the west. It is bounded to the east by Beddington Trail, to the south by Beddington Boulevard, by Berkshire Boulevard to the north and to the west by 14th Street W. The community was originally named after the village of Beddington in Surrey, England, and had its start as a Canadian Pacific Railway station. Beddington residents have a median household income of $56,881 and there were 14.4% low income residents living in the neighbourhood. According to the 2014 Calgary Civic Census, Beddington Heights had a population of 11,867 with 4,266 occupied dwellings of which 71% were occupied by the owner. The Beddington Heights Community Association offers residents a collective voice in how their community is run and represented. Located at 375 Bermuda Dr NW, it offers a main hall with a 200-person capacity, commercial kitchen, along with meeting rooms which can be rented out for business or family purposes. It operates a Before-and-After School Program that has been in operation since 1986. It offers summer camp between school years and affordable childcare to Beddington Heights and surrounding communities.
